2008 Race ResultsAndy Keyes July 12Funny day. Started foggy then some sun then cloud and downpours then back to sun for last few laps with temp rising from 19 - 29 (& humid). The Andy Keyes Trophy was won by Dave Enns who came in 5th. First by Pursuit rules was 1st group rider Patrick Hennessey whom the 2nd group failed to catch and 1st in the scratch group was Craig Doucet. This was Australian Pursuit with two 15 year old National Training Centre riders (Sean Scott group) off with a 20 minute lead. Moving along handily they did the first lap in 19 and had the scratch group immediately breathing down their necks albeit 1 lap down. The 1st group were supposed to let the scratch ride through but they hung on for a bit before Patrick Hennessey crashed in town remounted and soon was joined by Sean Cranwelll and Sean Scott (who had pulled off earlier). Out of 16 riders we had an amazing 5 riders DNF mostly due to flatting and one John McCormack who persevered. The riders had trouble with the rain making a witches brew with sunscreen & sweat and the crash above was caused by a lady stopping in front of the pack in town. Fortunately no one with real injuries. This was a fast event with lots of attempted breaks throughout the race avg speed of the pack 41.5kph! TdeF style! The young National group were impressive hanging in with some really fast riders in their first 100km event. Congrats Sean Scott! Eric Dickenson went scratch stayed with scratch and came in 5th in the pack! Pictures !
Nella 40km TT Binbrook June 21 2008Excellent conditions with a quasi neutral light cross wind. Possibly a course record by Charlie Bryer and a couple of personal bests we believe by Ken Wilson & Wayne Atanas. Nella Trophy winner Carl Clarke with a 58:00!
Ayr 48km RR June 7th 2008Sunny day 28C windy. Wayne stayed away for the full course to win under Australian Pursuit rules. Carl looks to have blasted up the last hill for 2nd & fastest time.
